Remembrance Garden

Our memorial tree was opened in Autumn 2022. The tree was commissioned by a local sculpture, James Sutton. The tree offers a space for us to reflect and remember lives of students and staff. The butterflies are placed around the roots to symbolise the foundation of the tree in which the leaves grow. Which is so true of the dedicated staff members who the butterflies represent. Many of our pupils are motivated by bright colours, sounds and tactile objects- each of these elements are represented within the garden through the leaves, wind chimes and textured plants. The brightly coloured leaves remind of us of the individual personalities remembered in the garden and the happy memories shared. This is a fitting memorial to those it commemorates.
