Social, Moral, Spiritual, Cultural
Pupils learn to interact with others, develop teamwork and build friendships. Throughout the curriculum, pupils participate in group activities, building a sense of belonging within the school community. Pupils are given many opportunities to engage with their local community through trips and community links.
We guide our pupils to make the right choices through teaching principles like honesty, integrity, responsibility and fairness. RSE sessions help guide and teach our pupils about respectful relationships. We recognise pupils who demonstrate good values through our wow assemblies and values champion awards.
We actively promote wellbeing and mindfulness throughout the school day and through our My Happyminds sessions. Across school classes take time to pause and reflect, helping to develop a sense of purpose and meaning. Pupils engage in sessions such as yoga, holistic massage and musical soundbaths to promote positive wellbeing.
Throughout the curriculum we offer many opportunities for pupils to develop their understanding and appreciation of different cultures and traditions, preparing them for life in a multi-cultural society. Curriculum theme days allow pupils to celebrate cultural events and experience different traditions, music and cuisines. Trips to museums and historical landmarks help our pupils gain an appreciation of their cultural heritage.
